With over 20 years of experience in working with newborns as a Neonatal Intensive Care nurse, Gigi will show you the best ways to handle newborns and secrets to a successful Portrait session.
She will tell you how she successfully works with multiples and special things to consider when working with them. She will go through her workflow and lighting for her newborn sessions, for both studio and her signature “Newborn Nature” sessions.
Gigi will discuss how to take your newborn portraits to the next level and make your portraits stand out through customizing the session to each client. Whether you are photographing newborns or seniors, she will talk youthrough her creative process and how she comes up with ideas and creates images that set her apart from her competition by making her images more than a portrait, but a piece of art.
Lastly, she will share her marketing strategies that she uses to attract the right client. She will discuss her social media and video marketing, how she does her sales sessions,as well as some of the latest trends in newborn photography.
Gigi O’Dea is owner of Memory Portraits by Gigi and has been in business for almost 15 years in the Sarasota/Bradenton area. Being a Neonatal Intensive care nurse for over 20 years, it is a natural it that the focus of her business is photographing newborns. She retired from nursing this past year to concentrate her energy on her business.
Gigi has a passion to create unique newborn portraits that stand out. She is also very passionate about competing. She has placed in the top ten the last two years at the FPP state competition. Her image “Safe in His Hands” placed third in the child portrait category at the SEPPA competition this past year. Lastly, she started competing at the International Print Competition only the last two years. The first year, she had three of her images chosen for the Loan Collection with the image, “Winter’s Wonder” appearing on the cover of PPA magazine. This past year, she had a Platinum case with all images meriting, 3 chosen for the Loan Collection, and one chosen for the Showcase Collection.
